Johanna Schubert, born 1999 in Frankfurt am Main, is a German violinist and co-founder of the Amelio Trio.
She is a prizewinner of numerous national and international competitions, including the ARD International Music Competition Munich, the “Deutscher Musikwettbewerb”, the International Schumann Chamber Music Prize Frankfurt, and the Gianni Bergamo International Chamber Music Competition in Lugano.
As a soloist Johanna has performed with orchestras including the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra. Alongside performances of major works of the classical and romantic period she holds a strong passion for contemporary music, which features regularly in her concert programmes.
She works regularly with orchestras such as NDR Radio Philharmonic as well as the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and was a scholarship recipient of the Jürgen-Ponto and Ernst von Siemens Music Foundations.
Since 2019, Johanna has been studying with Prof. Elisabeth Kufferath at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, where she received the Dr. Gerda Rohde Prize in 2022 for her Bachelor's degree, which she completed with highest marks, and subsequently began her Master’s studies there. Additionally, she has received important artistic inputs from Donald Weilerstein, Midori, Jörg Widmann, Eberhard Feltz as well as from members of the Fauré Quartet.
Johanna is a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and performs on a fine violin by Lorenzo Storioni, Cremona 1779, from the Deutsche Musikinstrumentenfonds.
